Enviromental Geography

This course introduces the students to the study of the physical environment and its effects on the humans. It lays emphasis on the integration of physical geography and environment to address the environmental challenges facing the world today. The course serves as a bridge between physical and human branches of geography. The learner will be introduced to areas of physical geography such as changes in sea levels, glacial and coastal environments and environmental hazards. Other areas relevant to environmental geography in studying the human impacts on the environment includes biogeography, geographical information systems, sustainability, natural resource management, environmental law and policy, environmental economics among others.
